Where I love to Shop
Deshima is a macrobiotics cafe and shop where I go to buy the best rice, and speciality Japanese products. You can find Deshima at: Weteringschans 65, Amsterdam 1017 RX
Biomarkt has overall the best range for a whole foods supermarket in Amsterdam. You can find Biomarkt at: Weteringschans 133-137, Amsterdam 1017 SC
Marqt is a realitively large supermarket that is somewhat between a standard and a whole foods supermarket. You can find Marqt at: Overtoom 21, Amsterdam 1054 HA
Boerenmarkt Haarlemmerplein is a slow food market that makes a weekly apperance on wednesdays. I love it because it's smaller and more personal than other food markets in Amsterdam. Address: Haarlemmerplein, Amsterdam (only on wednesdays)
Books I Love to read
On Food and Cooking- The science and lore of the kitchen, by Harold Mcgee. If there was such thing as a Kitchen Bible this one would be it!
The Way of Herbs, by Michael Tierra. Not only packed with loads of great information, it reads like a novel too.
The Self Healing Cookbook, by Kristina Turner. Really cute book that's very helpful in starting your own home holistic kitchen.
Healing with Whole Foods, by Paul Pitchford. For me this is a must have for anyone interested in Holistic Nutrition.
Where do I study?
Online at Endeavour College of Natural Health. Check out their website at http://www.endeavour.edu.au/
